CLIMATE

 

The Philippines has a rainy tropical climate,w/ heavy rainfall and warm temperatures throughout the year.The eastern parts of the islands generally receive more rain than the western parts.

 

 

Rainfall averages about 80 inches yearly.In the Manila area most of the rain falls from April to October,whereas in norhern Mindanao,more rain falls from October to April.The temperature ranges from 70 degrees to 80 degrees F. on the most of the islands.Temperatures below 60 degrees F. along the coasts are rare.

The highland areas are generally somewhat cooler than the lowlands.The northern and central parts of the Philippines are often hit by destructive typhoons during the summer or autumn.
